Liz, this photo reminds me of the book "Make Way for Ducklings" (Robert McCloskey, who also wrote "One Morning in Maine" and "Blueberries for Sal") which takes place in Boston and includes scenes of this lake and swan boat. If you haven't read it, you MUST!
Alice, how funny that you mentioned that! Debbie and I were talking about the island in the middle of the lake that looks just like the one in the book. Thanks for clarifying that this was, indeed, the place!

PS... Alice, i just bought a book today called "Alice the Princess" have you heard of it? Its by David Shannon who wrote "No David"...it is so cute, kinda reminds me of your Mary...check it out if you haven't yet...Blueberrys for Sal is one of my favorite childrens books!
