Girl's Sleepover

Last night was the infamous sleepover with Claire and Jane . . . my two lovely nieces.

The night was filled with homemade pizza, "wowie" (Root Beer) and fresh-out-of-the-oven chocolate chip cookies. We ate on cute Anthropologie plates given to me by Claire and Jane's mom.

We blew up our blue velvety mattress and made cozy with sleeping bags and flannel blankets. Claire made sure that she had "Anne" and her "Pooping Doll" close by while Jane's necessity was a red-headed rag doll and "Skunk". Once everything was perfect (and after Jane told me all about Jesus forgiving her for hating Claire sometimes), we began watching "Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang". I was SURE they would fall asleep during "Hush-a-bye Mountain" but they stayed awake up until the very end. After Jane's third tinkle, it was time for bed and the girls were very good about going right to sleep.

It was nice to have children in the house. Every time I heard little girl giggles in the other room, I had a fleeting thought of a certain haunting before I remembered.

It was a good time had by all. Even David liked having a sleepover.
